Band BIO

High N Fidelity consists of 5 seasoned musicians who have a passion for REO Speedwagon music.  Their shows are high energy, as they play the hits, the ballads, and the deep cuts of REO's timeless music dating back to the 70's.  

Meet The Band

Brian McKenna - Drums

Born: 

New York City "Staten Island"

 

Influences: 

BTO, Van Halen, Bad Company, Kansas, REO Speedwagon, Aerosmith

Bio:

Brian is the founder of High N Fidelity!  He started playing in garage bands in 1978 until 1983.  He played originals from 1983 - 1988,  cover bands until 1992 when he signed with Wolf Records until 1994.  From 1995 - 2013 he played bars & casinos.  In 2014 he moved to Texas from Atlantic City, playing nothing but tribute bands, but REO Speedwagon is his passion!

Equipment

2018 DDRUM Dio in Satin Black. Ludwig brick or Legend snares.  Sabian cymbals.  DW hardware.  Regal Tip sticks.  Remo and Evans heads.  Sometimes plays 1996 Yamaha recording Custom kit.

Steve Becnel - Lead Vocals

New Orleans, LA

 

Influences: 

New Orleans Jazz, Paul Rogers, Tom Petty, Kevin Cronin

Bio:

The music heavy culture of New Orleans gave Steve an immediate passion for music at an early age.  He moved to Dallas in 1986 and has been playing the local scene for the last 12 years.  Before joining High N Fidelity he was with The Poor Dogs and Blood Foot as vocals/guitar.  Steve enjoys giving the audience a great experience!  When he is not performing, Steve is an Emergency Room RN, father of 2, and a dedicated husband.

Gary Cable - Lead Guitar

Born: 

Elizabethton, TN

 

Influences: 

The Rolling Stones, REO Speedwagon, if it was Rock & Roll... Gary was influenced!

Bio:

Gary's style of play comes from an appreciation of the present, paired with respect for the past.  He started with piano, then to violin, which culminated with guitar.  Gary has decades of musical experience, and has shared the stage with Buddy Whittington (blues guitarist) and Sir Earl Toon (Kool and the Gang).

Gibson, Fender, Gretsch, Ibanez, Schecter, Electra, Alvarez, Marshall, Mesa, Hiwatt, Line 6, Sennheiser, Cry Baby, Morpheus, and Hercules.

Bass

Born: 

Pine Bluff, Arkansas

 

Influences: 

ZZ Top, Van Halen, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Lynyrd Skynyrd, REO Speedwagon

Bio:

Mark played bass in bands as a teen growing up in Arkansas.  He moved to Dallas in the early 80's and raised a family.  He's been involved in the DFW music scene for about 20 years, meeting a lot of people and making a lot of friends along the way.  Mark loves performing in front of a live crowd and

he doesn't intend to stop anytime soon!

Steve Nathman - Keyboards

Born: 

Oklahoma City, OK

 

Influences: 

Van Halen, Neil Diamond, Eagles, Journey, Boston, Chicago, Doobie Brothers, Grand Funk RR, REO Speedwagon

Bio:

Call him "Nate." He strives to emulate the original artists recording note for note, sound for sound.  He played keyboards for The Rankins from 1994 - 2000, a popular DFW 50s/60s band who went on to play Branson, MO.   He's also played for Leon River Band, Vinyl Revue, Chicago tribute and Huey Lewis tribute.  Classic rock of the 70's and 80's is his true passion.  Nate has been both challenged and rewarded learning the greatest hits, the ballads, and deep cuts of REO Speedwagon!
